“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”
Colossians 3:16
St. Michael Parish enjoys a very diverse music ministry with styles of liturgical music for everyone’s taste from traditional to contemporary. We have three music ensembles that regularly lead the congregation at our weekend masses.
Our Choir has a diverse repertoire highlighting many classic choral works. In addition they sing choral pieces created by many of today’s new composers and arrangers. They rehearse Thursday evenings two to three times each month and sing twice a month at the 9:00 mass.
The Contemporary Group features guitar and keyboard arrangements of a widely diverse style of liturgical music. Like the choir, they also lead the congregation twice a month at the 9:00 mass.
Our 11:00 mass music is led by our Praise Group. This keyboard and guitar led ensemble leads and enhances our liturgies with selections written in the “Praise and Worship” style. The Praise Group rehearses on Tuesday evenings.
If you feel God calling you to be part of this very active ministry as a vocalist or instrumentalist please contact John Kelly at 603.778-0614 or email him at Music@stmichaelparish.org for more information.
