Hello and welcome to St. Elizabeth Seton School. St. Elizabeth Seton is a Kindergarten through Grade 8 elementary school that serves children in the greater Rochester area, as well as many surrounding communities. Our school is a Christ-centered community, offering each student a unique blend of spiritual, intellectual and emotional growth. We are proud to announce that we are now accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
The history of our school, which extends over the past one hundred plus years, has been enriched throughout the years by the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of Our Lady of Lourdes and the Sisters of the Holy Cross. We have been truly blessed with the dedication of the Sisters and are proud to have two Sisters of the Holy Cross, Sr. Gabrielle Gagne and Sr. Doris Guerette, still involved with our school. The Sisters, along with 21 lay Staff members, strive to bring the teachings of Christ to our students in the classroom and in their everyday lives.
Our school offers a Full and Half day Kindergarten program, which is based on the Developmental Philosophy that looks at the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual components of each individual child. Grades 1-5 are self-contained classrooms; Grades 6-8 are departmentalized. Our small class size (averages = 18 students) helps to ensure individualized student attention. Our curriculum for all grades includes the basic courses of Language Arts (including Phonics, Spelling, Reading and Literature), Math, Science, Social Studies, Religion, Physical Education, Health and an integrated Study Skills Program. In Grades 6-8, students also participate in French and Computer classes.
I am proud to be part of such a wonderful educational institution that is based upon the teachings of our Catholic Faith. These past thirteen years as Principal of St. Elizabeth Seton School have been truly wonderful and I look forward to the years ahead as we continue to educate and serve the children we love so much.
Peacefully Yours,
Ms. Boutin
